School Dinner Menu Competition
Congratulations to Ella Whiting and Celine Orabi in Cobalt class who won the menu competition run last half term. The winning menus are: Braised beef with onions in a vegetable sauce with vegetables and couscous (Ella) and Vegetable kebabs with rice and broccoli (Celine). Dessert for both menus is Tropical Fruit Salad. Dorothy Clarke, Area Manager for Catering in Haringey presented the girls with tokens as a prize and the girls were photographed receiving their prizes and there will be an item in ‘The Haringey People’ magazine next month. The menus will be cooked by our kitchen on 10 July. If your child normally has a packed lunch but would like a school dinner on that day please fill in the slip at the bottom of this letter.
Staffing News
Jeannette Morgan is leaving at the end of this month to start her maternity leave. We will miss her over the next year. She has been a real asset to the school, both in her teaching and all the many other projects she has initiated, particularly the recent work with parental involvement and the INSPIRE sessions. I am sure you will join with us wishing Jeannette and her husband, Toby Oxford, our very warmest wishes for their future with their first baby.
INSPIRE Lessons
For those of you who have already participated in your class INSPIRE lesson, well done! There has been some truly inspirational work done by parents and children across the school: see the Andy Goldsworthy sculptures in the entrance hall. There will be opportunities for all classes by the end of the year. thank you to Jeannette Morgan for this initiative.
School Choir
A reminder that we have re-started the school choir. We have places for more children, so please encourage your child to participate. The choir meets on Tuesdays after school from 3.30 to 4.30 pm in the Junior Hall.
School Website
One of our Learning Support Assistants, Shona Hughes Nectoux (Year 3), has been updating our website. Take a look – www.muswellhillschool.ik.org. There is a lot of art work on each class page. There is also now a children’s page – the Eco Warriors are the first to contribute. All our newsletters are in the News section. We would like to move towards more information being stored on the website to save paper; let us know what you think.
